This years zone 6 team will be coached by Sean Walmsley ( Vic Field ) , Joel Smith ( Nanaimo ) and Wil Chiasson ( Vic Field ).
A tryout date is still being finalized but will most likely be on the weekend of May 12/13. Player applications will be accepted until May 3rd. The team is allowed to select a roster of 17 players and 2 goalies. With the amount of talent on the island this should be a very strong team with an excellent shot at a gold medal.
The 2018 BC Summer Games are being hosted by the Cowichan Valley. If selected, players must pay a $175.00 fee to the BC Summer Games. This covers transportation, lodging and food during the BC Summer Games. An additional $60.00 charge will be paid to the BCLA for uniforms (jersey & shorts). $235.00 total cost.
I have had the opportunity to participate in the games as both a player and coach. It was a great experience to be a part of, and I am confident should you make the Zone 6 team you take away life long memories and new friends. BC Summer Games is so much more than just another lacrosse tournament.
